§Biography

Divya Mahajan is an Assistant Professor in the School of ECE and Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She leads the Systems Infrastructure and Architecture Research Lab at Georgia Tech.

Dr. Mahajan received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, her M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, where she was awarded the President of India Gold Medal, the highest academic honor in the IITs.

Before joining Georgia Tech, Dr. Mahajan was a Senior Researcher at Microsoft Azure, where she led the research, design, and deployment of communication collectives for large-scale distributed deep neural network training. Her research has been published in top-tier venues, including ISCA, HPCA, MICRO, ASPLOS, NeurIPS, and VLDB, and recognized with the NCWIT Collegiate Award (2017) and the Distinguished Paper Award at HPCA (2016).

At Georgia Tech, her team is developing next-generation sustainable compute platforms to support large-scale AI and machine learning workloads, integrating insights from computer architecture, systems, and databases with a focus on distributed, domain-specialized systems designed to meet the computational demands of massively large AI models.

Dr. Mahajan is PI for a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) project submitted to the Department of Energy by Pangea in collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology.
