Fenghui Yao is a Lead Consultant in theoretical AI/ML, applied AI/ML, computer vision, hardware, and sensor fusion at Pangea.
Professor Yao holds PhD and MS degrees in Computer Engineering from Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan. He also has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Dalian Maritime University in China.
Dr. Yao is a true expert in AI/ML. He is the author of a machine learning textbook titled ”Hands-on Machine Learning and Data Sciences,” published by Sentia Publishing.
Dr. Yao has an extensive background, with over 30 years of research experience in the fields of robotics, computer vision, and machine learning. In the area of robotics, Dr. Yao has led various successful projects, including the development of a concrete tunnel inspection robot utilizing ultrasonic sensors, a calligraphy and art robot with a manipulator, an intelligent robotic wheelchair equipped with a camera and ultrasonic sensor array, and the Resupply Device – Quadcycle. In computer vision, Dr. Yao has effectively managed multiple projects involving moving target detection and tracking from a mobile camera using Kalman filtering, target detection from infrared (IR) images, image fusion for IR and EO images employing wavelet transform, target detection and tracking through camera networks, and layered sensing utilizing camera sensors at different tiers. His contributions extend to more than 40 technical papers in these domain
