Alex Loh is a Lead Consultant in natural language processing and large language models.
Alex Loh is a seasoned technologist with a decade of experience at Google as a senior engineer and technical lead. He contributed to products such as Gmail, Maps, and Google Home.
His expertise lies in operationalizing natural language processing systems, particularly for text classification and named entity recognition (NER), as well as enhancing natural language generation for Google Home's speech capabilities. Alex developed an early version for extracting semantic information from hotel emails, a technology still utilized within Gmail today.
In addition to his industry experience, Alex pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin, where he published research papers on programming languages tools and domain-specific languages, ultimately earning a Master of Science degree upon leaving the program in 2013.
